Genesis To Make A WordPress Website For Free

WordPress is the leading content management system (CMS) powering 32% websites on the internet. Literary, for every 10 websites you visit. 3 of them are powered by WordPress. Now, that not only makes WordPress very popular but a trusted source and system individuals, corporates entities and multination business use to build there online presence.

Now, am now here to tell you how good WordPress is because i certain think you have an idea what it. But i would like to share with you why i chose it and the tools am going to be using this tutorial.

Well, i’ve have been and still use WordPress and make core CMS to build websites today. The 3 main reasons that straight forward why i use WordPress are: secure, fast and community (SFC). Despite the fact that there are so many stories with allegations that WordPress is not secure, i prefer to differ. WordPress as a software is VERY secure but its the themes and plugins (extensions) or even hosting environments that will lead to your WordPress website get compromised.

On WordPress being fast can be prove in comparison many other content management systems or even website building software and you’ll have no doubt.

On the other hand, WordPress has a large or if not the largest community of contributors who make the community and software better everyday. Contributors ranges from developers, testers, users, markets among others. This not only makes the community big but brings together a large team of talent that create resources that can be latter on be tested and use right within the community.

WordPress Themes and Plugins (Extensions)

With focus on this tutorial, I’ll be using a number of WordPress extensions. We will use one of the most lightweight and well optimized theme for WordPress called Astra. We’ll also use a number of plugins but the two most vital ones will be Elementor page builder and Astra starter sites.

Elementor has got itself 3+million active installations with an average of 4.9 out of 5 stars rating based on 3978 total reviews as of writing this guide.

That aside, I’m glad to have been one of the early Elementor page builder users making good use of the free Elementor resources like templates, blocks and sections. You don’t need ANY coding skills to make WordPress websites..

Based on the experience I have from using other page builders like Visual Composer and Divi, I found Elementor convincing to give a try. And guess what, my web design life has never been the same again. And wait, in this tutorial am going to show you step by step on how to make a WordPress website with NO step skipped.

Elementor as a Page Builder

Let me shade some light on this. Elementor can be greatly used as a page builder. You can incorporate Elementor templates, sections, elementor addons into your existing theme or design and have it work like charm. Elementor makes it really easy to integrate it with just any other page you have. But also, we need to know that you can use

Elementor as a Theme Builder

Just like I used it on this website, I created literally built everything using this amazing tool. When a friend saw it at first sight after launching, he asked which theme I used. He insisted that I had bought a theme. To be precise, today my blog looks like just another theme. But guess what. It’s sited on a blank Hello theme and then built everything using Elementor. Say like all layouts (pages, posts, archives), header, footer, widgets area and so on.

So, that’s why I would not only say Elementor is a page builder but another great tool to “build themes” without knowing to code.
